It’s Official – Google Pack is Here

Google has just released Google Pack (http://pack.google.com) which, according to their Web site, is:

Google Pack is:
  • Essential: Enjoy safe, useful software for your computer
  • Simple: Download and install everything in just a few clicks
  • Customizable: Choose only the software you want
  • Up to date: Get updates and new software via Google Updater
  • Learn more
  • Including Google’s Earth, Picasa, Toolbar (for IE), as well as Desktop, Google Pack is available for download now and also includes Mozilla Firefox (with Google Toolbar), Norton AntiVirus 2005 (with 6-month subscription), Ad-Aware and Adobe Reader 7.  A custom installer is also available: http://pack.google.com/pack_installer_custom.html which can also bundle Trillian, Google Video Player, Google Talk, RealPlayer, and GalleryPlayer HD. Overall, I’m quite interested (especially with the custom installer) as I have already downloaded many of these programs and with the Google Updater, which checks for updates to each and every one of these products, I can stay up to date with all of these different software titles in one place.
I’m not actually sure, but I’m assuming that this is what Larry Page’s keynote speech is going to be about (since the site just became available within the last few minutes. However, Page’s speech just now started so I can’t say that for sure. I’ll be sure and post back, though. Head on over and check out the Pack.
